Conrad & Eleza Miller

Conrad is a Mennonite PK who moved from Iowa to Florida, Alabama, Kansas and back to Iowa, before venturing out on his own to join the Army. He moved to Laramie, Wyoming after serving in the Reserves as a fuel systems specialist and joined the Wyoming National Guard. While there he attended WyoTech to earn a degree in Collision Refinishing. Conrad lived in Laramie for thirteen years working as a body man and painter, contractor, and teacher at WyoTech before relocating to Concord, North Carolina in 2006 to pursue his dream of working in NASCAR racing.

While living in Wyoming, Conrad attended Laramie Foursquare (Harvest Christian Church) and served in children’s ministry, as well as, assisting Single Mom’s with household and car repairs. Conrad has always been passionate about student outdoor ministries and was active in the University of Wyoming’s Chi Alpha chapter. When he moved to Concord he saw a sign for Harvest Community Church and decided to attend. He found out it too was a Foursquare church and became involved with the children’s and men’s ministries under Pastor Jeff Burris.

Eleza is a Jersey girl who was raised Catholic and during High School wanted to be a nun (really!). Her love of politics won out, however, and after graduating from The College of New Jersey and the Campaign Management Institute at American University in Washington, D.C., she served as a Congressional Aide and a Lobbyist. After moving to Mooresville, NC, she was directed to Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, where she began attending in 2001 and eventually served for six years in women’s ministry. In 2001, while looking for a job, she was introduced to Glenn Burris who hired her to serve as his Executive Assistant. Shortly after meeting his mom, Sister Burris, and Sister Alice Cauble, Eleza received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and dedicated her life to full time ministry at Camp Courtney in the summer of 2002. Eleza served as the Licensing Coordinator at the Atlantic Administrative Resource Center for the licensed ministers in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states from 2002-2010.

Conrad and Eleza met in April 2008, after the persistent promptings of Sister Burris for Eleza to attend a service at Harvest Community Church. Sister Burris invited Conrad and Eleza out to lunch and on December 29 the same year, Conrad proposed to Eleza at Tavern on the Green in New York City. They were married May 23, 2009 at the Kannapolis Foursquare Church.

Although Conrad vehemently resisted life in the ministry, after they met, he and Eleza realized their mutual love for Camp Courtney. They decided that if they were ever to serve in ministry together it would be at some place like Camp. In December 2010, Conrad and Eleza were invited to serve as the Camp Managers of Camp Courtney…their “dream” job!

Conrad and Eleza share a passion for God, Country and NASCAR racing. And, they are passionate about debating their beliefs. They love children and hope to have their own, although the 300 that visit Camp every week in the summer are good too.
