Keith King
Keith and Stephanie both grew up, met each other, and now pastor in Adairsville, a community in Northwest Georgia. Even though growing up in the same town, they did not meet until after high school and were married in December of ’96. Two years later they became the parents of Kimberly King. Keith is a bi-vocational pastor and works full-time as an Information Technology Specialist for Gordon County Government. Stephanie is a stay-at-home mom and volunteers at Living Way Christian Academy, where our daughter attends school.
Keith and Stephanie have been the pastors of The Livingroom Church since 2006. They strive to share a common goal; to show others the love of Christ. They exercise this goal with our church family, by helping to support local outreach ministries within their community as well as surrounding areas throughout North Georgia. Their church is a “simple church” and the group usually meets weekly (the days and times may change week to week) where they pray, study, and worship communally. There is always food; no food, no gathering!
Keith loves serving the body of Christ and in particularly the Southeast District. Keith is currently serving the church family as a divisional representative, simple church representative, and assisting with audio, video, and website needs.
Keith’s favorite scriptures are:
Eph 5:2 Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.
Romans 12:9-10 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other (practice playing second fiddle).
Keith’s favorite food is simply a great steak (cooked medium) and potatoes with a side of sliced tomatoes, pinto beans (with a slice of onion), a spinach salad, sweet tea, and chocolate cake with a big glass of milk (and / or vanilla ice cream) for dessert.
Keith’s favorite place, besides the dining room table, eating dinner with others, would be any where on the Appalachian Trail. Keith wishes that he could dedicate more time to spend on the trail. The trail is his way to disconnect from the world around him. The trail allows him to focus, to look inwardly, and to realign what is important to him. Keith loves the quote from Wayne Corderio’s book Leading On Empty, “Solitude is a chosen separation for refining your soul. Isolation is what you crave when you neglect the first.”
