Steve Flanigan

Growing up as a preacher’s kid in a strong Christian home, Steve learned to hear God’s voice early on in his life.  “My parents gave me an incredible gift showing me that God is love, not just a list of rules but One who truly wants a relationship with me!”  says Steve.  And now, with his rich background, a B.A. Degree in Pastoral Ministries from LIFE Pacific and a Master’s Degree in Christian Leadership from Liberty University.

The Flanigans moved from L.A. to Nashville in 1993.  Steve’s diverse background includes traveling with his gospel singing family at age five, playing clubs in high school and establishing himself as an actor and singer in Los Angeles, doing many national TV commercials, & appearances on TV shows such as “Dallas”, “Young & the Restless”, “Star Search” and many, many more.  Steve is the founder of THE ACTOR’S WORKSHOP in Nashville and continues to work in the film industry in Nashville.

Steve Flanigan Co-Pastors with his wife, Sandy, at HOPE CENTER in Nashville, TN, which they planted 15 years ago.  They moved from a local school into an old, run-down Church building in the “hood” on 12th Ave. So., a drug infested neighborhood filled with prostitute and crack houses, about 10 years ago to start a work that would affect a neighborhood, a community, a city and maybe even a nation!   Hope Center’s mission statement is:  We are an Interdenominational Church, with an Interracial Heart, and an International Mission.

“I want our ministry to be an instrument of renewing people’s hearts and restoring people’s lives” Steve says about Hope Center. They have a strong homeless outreach ministry and are about to open a culinary arts training center to train the homeless and give them a trade.

Steve and Sandy have three awesome kids, 30, 23, and 21.  They’ve been married for 33 years.
Steve’s favorite Scripture is 2 Cor. 5:17. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!”
He loves the beach and anything fried!  He also loves to play basketball and lifting weights.
