Over the past 10 years I have had the privilege of working with many great leaders, and have loved serving and pouring into the Pastors and Leaders in NextGen Ministries as well as being able to impact student’s lives for eternity. I am so grateful to have such a great group of people. After working in youth ministries, directly with youth and with youth ministers, I’ve come to realize that there are a lot of youth and young adults helping to make the church run because of their zeal and passion, but finding time to pour into them is a little more difficult. Our Southeast District Leadership Academy will provide an opportunity for you to spend a week with your students and send them back ignited to help fulfill the mission of the local church! We also want to welcome local church leaders to be a part of the process to pour into the students from their churches. This is a partnership between the local church and the Southeast District to move the mission of the local church forward!

Hello Beautiful Ladies!

I am so excited about the weekend we have planned for you. We have been praying and planning and we know that this weekend is God ordained and is going to be significant in your life. Our theme of “Free to Be Me!” is going to come with a powerful, life-changing message that we all need to hear. So many of us are held bound by the “stuff” of life that is keeping us from being all God has designed us to be. I am expecting to see our women walk away delivered from all those things that have kept them bound and set free to be all God has created them to be. Christina Williams, our guest speaker is going to bring a powerful word of Freedom. Get ready! It’s going to be life changing. While you are at it, invite a friend to come along whom you know needs to hear this word of Freedom. God can speak a word to them that will set them free to be all God has designed them to be.

We are going to be in the beautiful mountains of Gatlinburg, TN. You will just love the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort. The accommodations are wonderful and the surroundings are just gorgeous! My wife, Mindy, and I want to inform you of a Missions Infusion that the Lord has laid on our hearts for over a year.
We are teaming up with a youth group from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, where John Mazariegos and his family minister as Missionaries. He will be bringing his team to the Savannah region the week of August 5th, 2012. For John, this is very exciting in the stages of church development. As far as he and David Wheeler know, this could be the first ever to this scale, 20 youth, sent as a youth missions team into the United States to minister!
John and other church leaders will help us facilitate an intensive training 4 hours each morning, with practicum in the afternoon and evening ministry.
Training topics will include:
Communication
Being a disciple
Doing what Jesus did
Cross-cultural awareness
The cost will be $250.00 and will cover food, accommodations and travel while in Savannah. We intend to provide 3 meals a day, lodging and all materials. Through classroom, small groups and one on one time we will prepare everyone for the practicum training of the afternoon and the community engagement in the evening. Of course we will infuse downtime, a tour of Savannah and possibly some beach time!
Our Goal is not just have an encounter with missions but to be infused with a mission’s mind, a mind that understands there is local, domestic and foreign missions and all are equally important to the Father. Having John and his family here will show foreign missions, having students from across the country come to Savannah shows Domestic missions and partnering with a local church demonstrates the local missions.
